Watch this video, made by Spacey Gracey and Shelbinator, and look for me around the 2:46 mark:
And this photo might be marginally funnier:

Way to go SpaceyG landing that Huffington Post gig. Hopefully you can do this every Tuesday, and we can get progressively drunker as we film them. See how I threw “progressive” in there? And it’s a video for the Huffington Post? Nevermind.

I’m hoping the whole project will build in a wild video crescendo, then go just crazy out in a blaze of glory as the progressives battle the boys from PP in a fight to the most blathering drunk-est. Complete with Jello wrasslin’, Bible thumpin’, speaking in tongues, pole dancing, and Ann Coulter finally eating, something.
Whoa, more like “with a tiny little bit of assistance from” me; all I did was hold the camera on occasion, no big feat. The real pain in the ass is of course encoding and editing.

While I love the video of my former stomping grounds, the GIE night at Manny’s, and appreciated seeing numerous friends in the video, I have to disagree with SpaceyG’s claim that GA is the reddest state in the nation.
Has she not heard of/been to Mississippi, South Carolina, or Texas? I love how Democrats are shocked, SHOCKED, that Ga turned Republican, circa 2002, when in actuality Ga has been a conservative state for decades. It’s just that once upon a time there was a faction of the Democratic Party that was known as conservative Democrats, who essentialy were more in tune with the right side of the aisle than many Republicans from northern states.
Sonny Perdue was a Democrat for years, before turning Republican and being elected Governor. Has his personal politics changed over the course of his career? Undoubtedly, the answer is yes. But we must remember that his views were consistent with the old conservative faction of the Democratic party from 25-30 yrs ago. But he was never a true liberal.
Bottom line is this, many people who live in ATL, with the notable exception of the Radical Georgia Moderate and his better half/partner in crime Amber Rhea, are not in tune with the hearts and minds of the vast portion of Georgians outside of the Metro area. People who live outside of Metro ATL have always espoused conservative views, they’ve just switched to the other party since there are no more conservative Dems left. Seriously, name a prominent Member of Congress, who can honestly be classified as a blue/yellow dog Democrat.
By the way, enough about Hillary, Obama and Edwards, where’s the love for Bill Richardson? He’s the most qualified candidate in the field for the Democratic Nomination.
But hey, who needs a guy with significant experience in foreign policy, energy, Congress, and as a chief executive at the state level? He lacks the money and the sexy name brand appeal for most Dems.
And therein lies the problem with our electoral system; the most qualified candidates have little to no chance securing the nomination, much less winning the Presidency.
Thanks for the comment Blue. I like Bill Richardson better than anybody else in the Democratic field. I’m sad that primaries keep getting earlier and earlier, because it’s second-tier candidacies like his that get hurt by it.
Richardson is probably the most qualified person in the field - but unfortunately for him, he does not seem to be lighting any fires. I’m in love with Obama - who isn’t, or couldn’t be, really? - but I’d vote for Richardson, without the reservations I had voting for Kerry, in a heartbeat.
