Twice in two weeks, I’ve encountered rodents at one MARTA station or another. The first was a live baby mouse scampering around the Decatur station, hiding from me whenever I tried to photograph it:
And then this morning in front of the Arts Center station, I saw this gigantic dead rat, apparently drowned during yesterday’s deluge.
Happy Monday! Aren’t you glad my site is back? At least thank me for waiting until after lunch to post these.

From the looks of amber’s blog you also ran into some rodents down town this weekend holding signs. From the looks of the guts on those guys they don’t miss too many chances to gooble up cheese.
Glad you are back
I see little mice about once a week at the Midtown station. A week ago, I saw one dig a hole into the side of a trash bag and jump in. A few minutes later, a worker picked up the trash bag and carried it away. That mouse was in for the ride of its life.
I live in Stockbridge, GA. About a week ago I saw an animal that I believe to be a norway rat. It was eatting something on the side of the road near a streetlight. This animal showed no fear of people or cars and ate calmly. At first I thought it was a very large raccoon. I pulled my car into a parking lot across the street from it. Then I got a good look at him. He had two black eys. He was chubby like a guina pig. I video recorded him with my camera phone, but the quality of the video is poor and does not do justice to his size. I observed him as he walked over to a tree, that is when I saw his profile. That is when I saw his tail. Definatly not a woodchuch or a raccoon. It looked like a rat’s tail. I have seen a lot of possums, and it did not look like a possum either. Although the video is poor you can see how it moves. I don’t have internet access for my phone but if you want to see I’ll try to find a way to send it to you. It was in my estimation to be three feet long excluding the tail. It was the size of a large raccoon. It had two black eyes, but not like a raccoon’s, and it’s tail was not very long but definately a rodent’s tail. Any idea what this critter could be? Thank you.
