The siren’s song of NCAA 2007 for the Xbox 360, which won’t even be released until July, proved to be too tempting for me to resist. When Best Buy sent me an e-mail offering 10 percent off anything ordered online, that was the final straw that bent my will toward the monopolists EA and Microsoft. My Xbox 360 should arrive late this week or early next week. I am weak. I am not sticking to principle here. But, c’mon, this is the first screen grab I saw:

Project Gotham will have to tide me over until I get my NCAA Football fix.
Related, does anyone want to buy a Gamecube with two controllers, two memory cards, and +/- 10 games? I’ll update this post with a full list when I get home tonight, but these are the games I remember off the top of my head:
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Madden 06
Metroid Prime I and II
NCAA Football 2004
Resident Evil Zero (I’m pretty sure it’s Zero, but need to double check)
Starfox Adventures
Also, I lent Mario Sunshine to my brother. Hopefully he hasn’t sold it. And there’s a third-person shooter I can’t remember the name of. Maybe one or two more.
UPDATE: The action game is Dead to Rights. There’s only one memory card, but there’s also a rare promotional copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which was ported from the Nintendo 64 and given free to people who pre-ordered The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker.
Also, my Gamecube is one of the older ones with the hi-def component output that they quit making at some point, and I have the cable for it, which is also hard to find (I had to order mine from Korea). Here’s a photo of all the schwag:
UPDATE 2: I have an ad on Craigslist now.

Ah, you tempt me. After a few years of little-to-no gaming, I dusted off my PS2 and started playing Prince of Persia - I need to catch up on all the old games that I missed.
I hope you have an HDTV because otherwise the games will look like they’re on the Gamecube. And then there’s that xbox live subscription.
Damn, with all this extra stuff to buy I think I’ll sit out the next gen and get a Wii.
Wake me up for the next-next-gen.
Damn yeah thats right its nearly time for NCAA. This way I can have at least 3 seasons completed before the actual season starts. This will be a nice balance to my Godfather game addiction. Yes I could be outside doing something more constructive.
Non-Fitz Patrick,
I’ve heard the Godfather game is actually good, and I take it you agree. I’m tempted to buy it, even though the idea of making those movies into games kind of pisses me off. What’s so cool about it?
ME TOO! I never finished it, and my recent obsession with an orginal NES has peaked my interest in my PS2 again!
Rusty… how much are you asking for all that stuff?
Notice how the Florida receiver is just leaving the Tenn. db in his dust.
It’s just like real life.
Fuzzy,
Florida barely beat Tennessee last year, which would concern me if I was a Florida fan.
I’m an ACC guy. I could care less. I was just trying to get a rise out of you.
The Xbox 360 is pretty, provided you have the HD teevee to go with it.
I strongly recommend Godfather…lots of GTA type gameplay with the fun of playing out some of the best parts of the movie(like being the guy that sneaks the horse head into the bed and hiding the gun behind the toilet). The best movie to game adaptation I’ve played (even with the cheesy guy they got to do Michael’s voice). And of course there’s just the good old fashoined fun of taking a shotgun and making the Barzinis pay for killing your dad.
apparently too much to mention!
I have now read the craigslist ad. Must do that first next time!
I got a 360 and Oblivion a couple weeks ago and my friends are talking intervention. That game is fucking amazing.
