Today is the one-year anniversary of the GDGF and me hooking up, which we both agree is a more important anniversary than August 15, when we officially graduated from FWB to dating status. When people ask us how long we’ve been dating, for simplicity’s sake we say since May of last year even though that’s not 100 percent technically true.

(Tangent: We both think the terminology to describe the various stages of a relationship are totally whack. We’ve been together a year, but she’s still just a “girlfriend,” no different from a couple who’d been out drinking together a couple of times and maybe hooked up? There’s nothing in between that stage and “cohabitating” and/or “engaged?” If you use the phrase “college marriage,” I’ll rip your arm off and bludgeon you to death with it.)

If you want to see where it all started, click over to this comment from just more than a year ago. From there, we exchanged a series of e-mails containing every business innuendo you can imagine, until Amber finally got tired of the bullshit and invited me over. There’s no telling how long that series of e-mails would have lasted had she not taken the initiative.

So, yeah, that’s one of a million reasons Amber rocks. Things have been much awesomer with her than they possibly could have been without. I never thought being in a long-term relationship would appeal to me, but here I am, gushing and grabassing in public and enjoying every minute of it. I’m looking forward to growing old together, because I’ve been promised there will be toothless blowjobs.

Love you Amber!
